The films I selected explore the human condition and remind us that resilience is an evolving gift of self-discovery and self-realization.
Chisholm '72 - Unbought & Unbossed (2004)

The Farewell (2019)

When Billi's grandmother is diagnosed with terminal cancer, her family travels to China to say goodbye––but they decide to keep the diagnosis from their beloved matriarch. Billi grapples with the cultural practices of secrecy, and years later, after her grandmother's prognosis of only a few weeks to live, we learn that her grandmother is still alive.
The Farewell is based on the family secrets of director Lulu Wang, who also plays the main character Billi.
